Another suburban marijuana growing operation has been stymied by police.

The police tactical team, drug unit, and District 2 officers stormed a house in the 100 block of Sierra Nevada Close S.W. on Thursday.

They seized 464 marijuana plants in various stages of growth, worth about $600,000 on the street.

No one was home at the time of the bust.

The Southern Alberta Marijuana Investigation Team estimates 90 per cent of all grow ops in southern Alberta are controlled by organized crime groups
