Officers act on a tip and search home

One person has been arrested in connection with the discovery of cultivated marijuana plants in Purdy.

Marty Jay Anfinson, 21, has been charged with possession of more than 35 grams of marijuana, according to a press release from the Barry County authorities.

Officers, acting on a tip, searched the home Tuesday where they discovered nine marijuana plants growing in eight planted pots.

According to Garvin Anfinson, father of the suspect, the pots were located in a hog pen, located about 300 yards from the house in the crook of the woods. The garden, in contrast, is located within 15 feet of the house itself.

Marty Anfinson is being held in lieu of $10,000 bond.
