CA: States Should Decide Marijuana

SANTA ANA, Calif. – We're disappointed that White House press secretary Sean Spicer recently said "greater enforcement" of federal drug laws, including prohibition of marijuana, is coming.
"There's a federal law that we need to abide by when it comes to recreational marijuana and other drugs of that nature," he said. This, at a time when a majority of Americans support not only limiting federal enforcement of marijuana laws but outright legalizing the drug.

Such a move would run counter to multiple statements by Donald Trump on the campaign trail. "(In) terms of marijuana and legalization, I think that should be a state issue, state-by-state," he said, for example, during a campaign rally on Oct. 29, 2015.

From a constitutional perspective, this is the most sensible and pragmatic approach to marijuana. Nowhere in the U.S. Constitution is there a provision granting the federal government the authority to prohibit intoxicants.
In America's prior engagement with the folly of prohibition, that of alcohol, proponents of prohibition at least had the decency to seek and obtain a narrowly worded constitutional amendment, the 18th Amendment, to justify federal intervention. This hasn't been true of marijuana or other drugs.

Voters in most states that have been presented a ballot initiative on marijuana legalization have opted to approve it. Alaska, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and the District of Columbia have approved outright legalization for medicinal and recreational use, while a majority of states have approved marijuana for medicinal use.

Most Americans are simply ready to be done with the issue. A Quinnipiac poll released last month found 71 percent of Americans opposed to the enforcement of federal laws against marijuana in states that have legalized it for recreational or medicinal purposes. This includes 55 percent of Republicans, 72 percent of independents and 80 percent of Democrats. On the question of legalization, pollsters found support from 59 percent of respondents.

A renewal of a failed and constitutionally dubious federal crackdown on marijuana is simply not a priority of the American public. Gone are the days of reefer madness and even "Just Say No," with legalization, taxation and regulation seen as a more efficacious and just means of combating the harms of marijuana use, while respecting the freedom of individual choice.

We encourage the federal government to take a hands-off approach toward marijuana. Meanwhile, we support efforts in Congress to remove marijuana from federal control.

Reps. Tom Garrett, R-Va., and Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hawaii, recently introduced the Ending Marijuana Prohibition Act of 2017, which would remove marijuana from the federal Controlled Substances Act and thus grant states the flexibility to deal with it. This bill should bring together those who believe in states rights, individual freedom and a sensible justice system.

The pretense of federal marijuana prohibition – that arresting users, growers and sellers of marijuana will prevent use of the drug – has long been shown to be nothing more than a harmful delusion that has criminalized far too many people. We encourage President Trump to do the right thing and allow states to make their own choices.

Our 1st. mistake to believe, that they care about what we think. They are every single one of them are controlled by big $$ from all the big corps.. Big Pharma don't want mj legal, end of story !! Donald works for big $$, not the citizens of this land. And for the folks that voted for this guy, now you will reap the wrath of the Donald. Jeff Session's can't walk into his bathroom, in Alabama, without a bodyguard !! Why would we want a man like Jeff Sessions involved in enforcing our laws are beyond me. He is a model for hatred in America !! Anyone who believes a black man is free to walk into any club or bar he wants in Montgomery Alabama is terribly misinformed. What we seen going on there was disheartening. We went to a club 1 mile from the big Airforce base there. When walking in there was signs saying white bar, and to the right black bar. Well, this was on a Sunday & the black bar is closed on Sunday. So here we are in the white bar & the only way a black man could get a drink was at a window outside, which was behind the bar. Couple picnic tables in the sun, with no umbrellas, that was where they sit, in 100 + temps. brown bagging it. And they have no problem telling anyone who will listen, that they don't serve no dam ni---rs in here. It was one of the times in my life, that I was ashamed to be white !! And we found that every where we went in Montgomery!! If you don't believe me, go there, see for yourself.

Thank you, man!
1) To conclude, whether to legalize or not, it SHOULD be up to the states. Not the federal government. But hey... We can only hope, right?

2) This purple is gonna make a reappearance in the future. I still have 3 seeds :)

3) Totally unexpected, but this was #2 in the best smokes I've had. Not your typical Blue dream. Ohhhhh no. They exhibit heavy Indica characteristics with the energizing Sativa. Not-so-mellow of a high like it says it is. But I'm leaving that for the strain review ;)

4) Your grow is beautiful. Healthy green leaves, tasty fat buds. How many plants do you have?

All the best, brother.

There's 5 plants total, with two being runts that never reall caught up in time. But all in all, i'm expecting a nice harvest. 6 days from today. I started giving them just tap water today. this is my 1st. grow in coco, but I've been growing for awhile now. next time you start a new journal, I can help you with a better way of topping you plants 7 developing the branch structure, so you don't have to do all that crazy bending, in order to keep your plants out of the light. You went to school on this one. Don't expect any of those seeds to be purple, not that it matters potency wise .

My plant structure was the most inefficient thing you can imagine.
My next grow is x2 AK-47's - Main lining. I already know how to do it, but will always appreciate any feedback and help :)

Both seeds I had exibited purple pheno. I think there shouldn't be any reason for the rest not to be purple as well. Finger crossed anyway.
