Hamilton police were kept busy overnight, with 22 arrests made and a significant amount of cannabis found.

Senior Sergeant Phil Ruddell said the number of arrests was high and happened periodically.

"Drunkenness and fighting was the order of Saturday night," Ruddell said.

Police were also on guard at a Pukete address overnight, where a "significant cannabis-growing and cultivation operation" was discovered after routine inquiries.

"Several rooms on the property were being used for the growing and processing of cannabis," Ruddell said.

One person was arrested in that incident and will appear in court at a later date.

"Other occupants of the address were removed from the address while it was under guard."

CIB staff are expected to continue the investigation on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the woman who was resuscitated after her car and trailer crashed into the Waikato River at Cambridge on Saturday remains in a critical condition in Waikato Hospital, police said. The other person in the car is also still in hospital and in a moderate condition.
