A medical marijuana dispensary in Quincy known for its unique pot platters is serving up a charitable dessert over the next two months.

Ermont, Inc., a not-for-profit dispensary at 216 Ricciuti Drive in Quincy that focuses on medical marijuana edibles, announced it will be selling a "specially created marijuana-infused chocolate" to benefit a fellow not-for-profit, the Fitcburg-based New England Veterans Alliance.

The Quincy dispensary's charitable arm, "Ermont Cares" will donate 80 percent of the proceeds from the THC chocolate to support NEVA, which focuses on assisting veterans through alternative forms of care. Marijuana is often used to help ease symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder as well as chronic pain, two common medical conditions of veterans.

The specialty chocolate will be available for medical-marijuana recipients over the next two months. Ermont offers a rotating menu that includes a wide variety of marijuana edibles, including: cheese pizza, hot chocolate, pies, olive oil, honey, mac and cheese and muffins.
