Three Liberal ministers came under fire tonight by opposition parties concerned about the government's pot plans.

Justice Minister Jody Wilson-Raybould, Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale and Health Minister Ginette Petitpas Taylor testified at the House of Commons committee examining the government's proposed cannabis legislation.

Conservative health critic Marilyn Gladu questioned if the government will stick to its plan to legalize marijuana for recreational use despite concerns raised by police forces, provincial governments and municipalities.

Wilson-Raybould says the government is committed to having a regime in place by July 2018.

Goodale was also asked about concerns about the treatment of Canadians at the U.S. border following marijuana legalization.

He says Canada is constantly raising the issue with America as part of an "ongoing dialogue."
