A marijuana-possession charge against Miles Plumlee was dismissed recently, and the Hawks center faces no discipline by the NBA or the team.

Plumlee was arrested Aug. 20 in Shelter Island on New York's Long Island. He was issued a field-appearance ticket for misdemeanor marijuana possession, with two other individuals, and posted a $100 cash bail.

The violation in New York is defined as public consumption of marijuana in any amount or possession of the substance between 25 grams and two ounces. It is considered a Class B misdemeanor and punishable by up to three months in jail.

Plumlee may have to do community service as part of the agreement to dismiss the charge.

The Hawks acquired Plumlee in June as part of a trade with the Hornets. The Hawks sent center Dwight Howard and the No. 31 pick in the 2017 draft to Charlotte for Plumlee, guard Marco Belinelli and the No. 41 pick in the 2017 draft.

Plumlee missed the Hawks' first 19 games after suffering a quad injury during the preseason. He has appeared in four games, including starts in the past two games following injuries to Dewayne Dedmon and John Collins. He is averaging 1.8 points and 3.8 rebounds in 13.5 minutes.
