So I'm definitely new to growing indoors and especially new to growing marijuana. Luckily I have a strong will to learn and the pedigree to succeed. My dad is a triple OG when it comes to this stuff so wish me luck! Sorry to rant. Here is a couple of pop's seeds showing there colors after a few days.

Btw this grow is about 5 weeks ahead of the pics. It took me forever to figure how to start a journal on the app. So I'll indulge you with a few pics but first the setup. 12"x18"x3' wooden grow box made from scrap pieces from work. Foil insulation/reflective material from Dixieline. Its great stuff and pretty cheap. Growing medium I started with was left over soil from pots left outside that never sprouted (my kids love to plant randomly). After I realized I could legitimately grow weed since I'm in Cali, I decided to really go for it and transplant into an intriguing medium. Black Magic. Found at Home Depot and full of the nutrients I figured these plants needed so I got it. These are the results for the first 3 weeks. I'm running two 75w daylight cfls in a 10" heat lamp btw. Real close like for maximum coverage. And no nutes just yet.

Thanks Desertstoner! I'm in the process of lst considering my limited space. More pics to come!

These pics are from early week 4. Started some LST to maximize space and increase yields. I used some soft 14 gauge wire from work as anchors. I made sure to water the day before so the stem was pliable. First I anchored the stem in the opposite direction of the bend I was making and then proceeded to bend the stem down gradually one day. Then I bent the rest of the stem down about even with the top of the pot the next day. It's amazing how resilient cannabis is. It took about 3 hours for her to stand back up.

Oh I also used some cut up clothes hangers as anchors. They worked a little better then the soft wire.

I just started to lst mine (first grow) and noticed soft wire isn't the greatest for this. I'll start using clothes hangers instead. Thanks for the idea, perfect timing!

I've also utilized the soft wire as well though. Drilling holes in the pot for tie down areas. My soil was pretty dry today and the hangers hooks didn't want to stay in the soil. (Did a bit more lst tonight) The soft wire was optimal to tie my girl down.

A combination of both works best then. I didnt gave a drill bit for holes so I ended up using binder clips as anchors for the wire. Not sure how to upload pictures using the 420 app to show you.

Here's the ghetto rigged setup that I have. I had the double window fan actually in the window initially but due to the fact that I live in apartments and my porch needs to be "tidy" I have to reevaluate my options. I have a diy carbon filter in place and the warm air venting in my room is really just free heat so fuck it. I guess I found my option. Vent the warm air into my bedroom with my freezing wife and hopefully build a legitimate case for growing during the winter in Southern Cali. Which really isn't winter.

That's funny because I used a paper clip along with a rope ratchet to mount my fan. Paper clips can be very useful and cheap as hell. Stay inventive and shit will work out. Not sure how to help with the taptalk though. I'm not very tech savvy. Looking forward to pics if you can get it going though

And the second LST session on my first girl early in week 5 on the 17th of December. Also the first LST on my second plant. They are a week apart.

And here we are today heading towards the end of week 4 and 5. Some more LST and looking healthy. Notice the multiple bud sites on the larger girl. That's why we LST! Plus I need to keep them short.

Should I defoliate? Those fan leaves are getting really big and one was damaged while shutting the door. I'm not very experienced when it comes to this but my space for these girls is getting smaller by the hour. Any thoughts?

Dang I just began LST and I'm here being careful while I come and see your extreme bends lmao I think I'm babying mine!

You could get rid of the branches that face the floor, just do a bit at a time per day and not all at once. They're looking great!

I moved it for the picture but it's actually much closer to the hanging bulb to illuminate the nodes in between which started to really take off since I added the light there 2 days ago.

And here's the baby sprouted on the 14th this month.

What do you think bud?

Tell you the truth I'm really excited to have someone give me some input especially with a similar grow and setup. I appreciate it. Your girls are looking good! Looks like you might be able to sex your mature one possibly. I'm in the midst of constantly checking for balls or female parts right now. What kind of nutes are you using (if any yet).

Thanks Kane. I really appreciate man. Dstoner I think I'm gonna try your suggestion in order to get more light to the nodes even though I'm a bit apprehensive with cutting my babies. I'm starting to realize that marijuana might be a gateway drug...cause I can't stay off of this LST!

Thank you and same here! Glad to bounce ideas off each other. Maybe I'll start my own journal so I'm not hijacking yours haha. I bought feminized seeds so they should be all female (hopefully). I'm using the floragrow trio (I think that's what it's called) based on a feeding schedule I found online. The little one has been receiving just ph'd water with calmag. I'll be waiting until the third set of true leaves start coming out or the current leaves begin turning a little yellow to add nutes.
