1st Grow, Ebb & Flow, 2x2x7, 2 Strains, Training & Cloning, 2017

Hey all!!

Thought I'd finally start my very first GJ. Whoot, so exciting!!

I'm still making changes to my setup, like switching from hydroton/DWC buckets to Coco/Smart pots on an Ebb n flow tray. I'm hoping to get some ideas and insight on how to pull this off without causing too much stress on my 2 plants. I hope all goes well.

I'm using these 2 plants as my "learning curve" with training. Testing different techniques to see how the girls react. Live and learn!

So, without furher adieu, here we goooo!

Strains:

Kiwiseeds

(1) KiwiSkunk Feminised (Manifold) [Skunk #1 x NYC Diesel]
This 75/25 indica-dominant strain gives off a very potent skunky smell with sweet and citrus flavor.

Barney's Farm

(1) Red Diesel Clone (LST/Topped/FIM'd/Supercropped)
[NYC Diesel x Cali Orange]
This hybrid takes the distinctive sweet and sour diesel flavors of NYC Diesel and adds in California Orange, a stable heavy producer, to increase the yield and potency.

The seed was above ground January 5th, 2017 and the clone was 3 weeks old when I got her, transplanted on January 9th.

Tent: Goriila Grow 2x2.5x7

Light: Currenlty using 300W LED, but will be purchasing a Perfect Sun Dwarf Star as soon as they are available.

Setup/Medium:

(2) DWC 3.5 buckets with Hydroton. Switching to Ebb n Flow with Coco/smart pots.

Ventilation:

(1) 4" inline exhaust fan with carbon filter. Will add an intake fan at some point.

(1) 4" clip on fan - will add another soon.

Nutrients: Technaflora's "Recipe For Success".
I'm only adding 1 gallon in buckets every few days, noticed the plants looked over watered when I added 2 gallons.

Current mix per gallon:

5ml Boost
4ml Grow
2ml Trive B-1 Red
2ml Magical
6ml SugarDaddy
3ml Orca

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

It's. I've seeing a positive change the next time you go in.

Did some defoliation to a young blooming sour banana Sherbet and the next day it looked like
It was saying thanks and is doing so good

Hey HizzyB!

Thanks for stopping in, and nice to meet ya too.

I haven't done much defoliation just yet, only removed 4 slightly nute burned lower fan leaves. I've been bending everything out of the way for now. Trying my hand at most techniques. See what I prefer.

I'll be attempting the "Fluxing" technique on my next plants. Whoot!

PPM - 300-400
PH - 6.0
RH - 45% to 55%
Room Temperature - 72f to 80f

My idea for the new tent. Space will be tight, so I'll have to be smart with my sectioning, number of plants/pot size, filter, fans, etc. Might be a bit over zealous with my design. lol

I'll be tweaking it as I go.

Start in 1 gallon pots, then transplant to 3 gallon pots...

I'll start building once I receive the equipment this week for the lower (2 foot-or so) clone/seedling section. Thinking of making a small 5-7 gal top feed setup that I can re fill every few days. Space is limited, so I'll have to be creative. Lol

This is my recent update to the plans. I decided to stick with rockwool for my small space. May delete the lower rez and just hand feed as needed.

Being able to size it in 3D definitely helps with ordering.

Thanks bro! Helps with buying equipment for sure. I just punch in the dimensions to see how it would all fit.

I'm aiming for a nice perpetual system, with 2 plants flowering at all times.

Some shots and KiwiSkunk bucket change. Staying light, as I had some slight nute burn early on. Seems to ok with the mix increases.

Thx, bud. Playing around to see which technique I like best.

The Red Diesel almost looks like 2 separate plants in the 2nd picture. Lol

I tied back the taller tops to give the middle some love.

Nice girls! On my first grow I did the fim & supercrop and pruning etc, the buds were great but my volume per plant was not so good. So this grow I am trying the YOYO method (You're on your own) with just some minor defoliation here n there. So far the YOYO method is producing taller buds and plants which is my aim as I have a 7' bloom tent. I averaged about 1.5oz per plant on 10 plants in my first grow, so I hope to top that avg. this time. I also like the fact that I toil in the tent much less. I give credit to those who invest the time in DWC/hydro systems as it seems to be much more intensive and time consuming than a organic grow.
