Stacked 315W 5 Plant Vertical With Screens

Got up this AM bright eyed and bushy tailed, ready to go.
Pulled the plants out of the tent bound and tuck them to the screens and am ready to start setting up my drip system. Maybe two are so more hand waterings.

Just put the ladies on the screens. I am running two 315's, one vert and one horizontal st present. They are not tall enough for both to be set vertical, so I have the lower one vert and the upper light horiz. Running the one vertical without the second light is a problem because to keep the lamp just above the tops of the plants creates that dead zone of light at the tip of the lamp. So the lower parts of the plants were out of the direct light. Will be going both vertical within a week or so.
This is the light setup.

She is only 20" but she loves being bound to the screen. :)

As with last grow we are not removing the fans yet, tucking them behind the screens.

These are indica dom so I am not expecting a lot of lateral growth but hope to get at least a 150 to 200% stretch. Am around 20 plus inches not. Got around two plus weeks of veg left.

This is interesting. Think I’ll pay close attention to this. What is your anticipated yield? Subbed in for sure!G

Been growing Vert for a few grows now.
Last was a 5 plant (Sativa dom) but one did not produce, was a 58 day plant and had very few buds on that date so I pull her out to use for FECO. The other 4 plants yielded 34.5 zips, of that 24.5 was trimmed smokable buds. 10 zips of shake, two zips of buds I did not feel like trimming and 2 zips of the one plant that did not produce. Use this plus 4.5 zips of the smokable buds to make 45 grams of FECO, not tested but very strong. Good medicine!

I have a journal on another site, RIU, GR's 17'/18' Winter/Spring Stacked 315W 5 Plant Vertical with Screens, Barneys Farm LSD. Can't post a link, 420 will spank my hand if I do. May start one here also.

Irrigation set up. Am thinking of adding some form of soaker hose instead of a straight T set up.

I put about 1" plus layer of clay pellets to hold coco in place, and hold surface moisture (more roots closer to the surface). I hope this was not a mistake.

Back in the tent and ready for all the intense light it can handle.

Just posted this in a new thread but wanted to put it here also, maybe get additional replies.

Have used coco now for 5 years, different methods and grow techniques. Now it's straight Canna Coco and Canna nutes.
During the early stages as the roots are developing and am hand watering, I am always displacing the surface coco and having to move it around and pat it back down. After transplant and again while hand watering there is the displacement again and follow the same routine. Even after I have switched to my auto system, where the emitters are they displace and compace the area where it is being emitted.
I decided to put a layer of clay pellets 1-2" over the surface of the coco to hole it in place and also help retain moisture. Now my solution hits the pellets and the solution is more dispersed as it passes over the clay pellets.

My question is, has anyone tried this and is there a potential problem I should be aware of?

Here is my setup. 1/4" feed line and tee's. Three emitter points, wanted four but not enough pressure.

Yay, it works!

View from the top, the grow points are beginning to get that lime green color, it's flower time.

Lamp's positioning to get the lower lamp at a height where the dead zone of the lamp is positioned just covering the lamp cooling fan The upper lamp is positioned just where the lamps emitter it just above the tops of the plants.

The ladies bound to the screens and reaching for the lights. It had only been 6 days since the first heavy defo.

Day 4 of 12/12

Spread the out in the tent to get some pics after the lights went out this morning.
20171126_094440.jpg

Yesterday the plant were pulled and did some minor defo, they had fill in a lot since last defo. Last night night just before lights out I did another round of defo on #1, for light defo I got a shit load of leaves. They are going to be that way throughout the grow.

Hey GR, love the vert setup! LSD can become a monster of a plant, but I see you are on top of it. Nice work!

Thanks for the nice comment, I am trying to stay on top of it.
Well I hope to get around 100% stretch, that will fill my screen heightwise, the branching off the main stem seems to be lacking in lenght, so unsure of horizontal growth. I have got cuttings from 3 of the 5 plants, have a number of cutting from #1 it is the best formed plant, hopefully it will be the best overall.

Moving along well, stretch after 9 days 8 to 10". 3x nute waterings/12 hr light cycle. The clay pellets over the top of the coco is working well. All in all everything is fine. Wish I would get some rain, buying RO water is costly. My rainwater is < 15 ppm and a pH of 6.3.

About two weeks in.

Thought this was an interesting shot. Backside of my screens!

So as stated, pulled the plants from the tent and retied all back to the screens.
Only showing one plant but did the same to each of the 5 plants.

Day 19 12/12

Today did a fairly heavy defo, and will complete it on Wed.
Everything is tied in place, and should fill in nicely.

Wed or Thur I will do a full blown defo, did a good job today but will take a bit more. I expect with the growth they have shown they will be filled in quite soon.

GR

GR, nice grow. I read the whole thread by Sedan on the other site months ago. It was one of them things I just could not quit reading. Looks like you are following in his foot steps nicely. I also have respect for Tystik over there. He pointed me to the Chem-Gro nutes that I used in my hydro grow. I had no issues with them at all. I will follow along here as I think it is very neat what you are doing.
