Hey everybody, this is my third attempt growing and my second attempt with my current setup. Everything I've learned about growing is just by researching the web, so any tips or tricks are welcome. This also is my first time posting here, please be gentle if I screw up. Thanks in advance to all readers and fellow growers. Here goes:

Setup:
Strain - Northern Lights (x5) Feminized 100% Indica
Room - 7'x10' Spare Room
Grow Area - 5'x5'
Grow Medium - Organic Potting Soil (Can't remember brand) Found at Country Max
Light - 1000watt MH/HPS w/ Air Cooled Reflector and dimming ballast
Nutes. - Fox Farm Brand:
"Grow Big" NPK 6-4-4 for Vegative
"Tiger Bloom" NPK 2-8-4 for Bloom
Pots - 10 gallon Grow Bags

Setup Notes:
-Growing is limited by summer months. Unable to keep room cool once outside temp. reaches above 65F.
-The Light is hanging in roughly in the center of the room above a 5'x5'x6" frame with garden netting on top of it, which I use to collect run
off from feeding.
-Placed 8" Charcoal Filter on floor by outside air vent to draw cool air from outside and push thru tube to cool light and keep that lovely
skunky aroma at bay.
-Exhaust on light is rerouted back into another room to distribute the heat throughout the house.
-8" Booster fans are place 1 on the filter drawing air in and 1 on light exhaust pushing out.

1/22/18 - Day 31 Veg - Watered 2 gal plain tap water at room temp in each pot. Wanted to get a good run-off to avoid nutrient build-up.
Drove stakes in pots for growth reference and later on support. Continued daily pruning only removing portions off the main fan leaves at a time. By doing so this is slowing down the main stalk upward growth giving the lower branches time to catch up. My goal is to have a perfect flat canopy without having to top the main cola bud.

1/26/18 - Day 35 Veg - Watered w/ 3 tsp / gal of "Grow Big" fertilizer, 1 gallon in each pot. L.S.T. and pruning. Continued thinning the inside of nodes for airflow and avoid condensation between leaves. I'm lucky enough to be able to tend to my girls around the clock every few hours or so. Each time I go in I work on one plant pruning no more than 2 or 3 leaves at a time. I'll also bend the branches to have them grow outward. I know I could tie them down if I wanted to, this way keeps me steadily occupied through out the day.

1/27/18 - Day 36 Veg - End of Week 5, So far so good. I have one runt and the rest I think are very healthy and happy.

All but the little are now past the red mark on the the stake indicating they are all above 12" and about 18" wide.

1/28/18 - Day 37 Veg - More daily pruning. Started to rotate pots 180 degrees so they fill in equally all around.

1/29/18 - Day 38 Veg - Busy day in the garden. Removed all leaves underneath that would hang in the dirt when watering. Rotated the rest of the pots. Began tying down lower branches too thick to bend anymore. Noticed the tops would end up being too crowed before long so this freed up alot of space on the girls. On the next few branches above those I began to bend them by carefully squeezing the stem till I felt it crunch a little and weaken allowing to bend it down almost 90 degrees. Also watered 1.5 gal of tap water in each pot. Here are some before and after pics.

1/30/18 - Day 39 Veg - Girls are doing great!! Finished tying down the rest of the lower branches which I should be able to leave alone throughout the rest of the veg cycle and concentrate on the branches above.

Just wanted to do a quick update on my northern lights. Haven't had the time to update the online journal however I still continued a hard copy journal and pics. Here we are at 39 Bloom.

Not at all. I got my seeds from 420. This is my second batch of seeds from them. So far ended up with 7/10 super silver haze seeds finish from them. These are my first 5 of the northern lights.

I appreciate it, I am on a bit of a NL quest, and have 7 different breeders seeds I am going to work in a little at time in my future grows.
Will be watching to see how these turn out for you.

They are looking very good BTW. :goodjob:

Here's an update on my Northern Lights. These are at day 45 bloom. Getting close now.
Watered and fertilized one final time on day 43 and will begin flushing in 5 days

Hope all is well in your world.

How did this grow turn out?

We would love to be updated with some pictures and info.

How about posting a 420 Strain Review?

If you need any help with posting photos, please read our Photo Gallery Tutorial.

I am moving this to Abandoned Journals until we get updates.

:Namaste:
