Phototron Re-lit - Seasoned Grill

Hey All..:ciao:

Yes my first attempt was in this Phototron, I was very happy with the results.
To explain the seasoned grill. Trish (my first attempt) was pulled out of the soil.
I decided to reuse the soil. Part of my experimentation.:nomo:
Mid way through the cure, I decided to start up the phototron again. Looked
through the seeds I had. (all bag seed) Found some I've been itching to try, good
smoke better than normal with monster seeds. Germinated in my preferred way
can't say too much, will put a company you guys seem to be fans of, out of
business. Send me a PM if curious. :hmmmm:
Popped 5 beans, 4 survived 2 in soil.
Both in Phototron now. Transplanted 1, which true to form I burned.(Darn it all!)
Didn't water enough, stressed it out.
Pulled out the AN "No Stress" n gave her a good soak. She stood up and seems to be coming back.:ganjamon:
The strain seems to be very good, huge fan leaves and is a low rider, very little space between nodes.:cheer:
Just went thru her 2nd trim and is bushing up well:yummy: Pics up after this.

Re: Phototron Re-lit. Seasoned grill..

:sorry:.Guys

The baby pics were taken in 3mb. (over the upload limit)
These were taken in 1mb. Ill try to get them up when I get
access to a cam again.

Here's the main girl and the burned one. Looks like same strain.
Size difference shows how long it took to bounce back from the burn.

Here's the main girl, lighter shows the low rider feature I'm loving:yummy:

She' about 4-5 weeks old.
Just counted 7 nodes and still under a foot.:cheer:

Nice One :bravo:

 Where's my chair

Thanks Nasty..
This was a seed I chose because the smoke it was from was great.:ganjamon:
Really dense buds and giant seeds.:yummy:
I guess it got pollinated good for me, great price great smoke.:cheer:

Hi all.:ciao:

Get ready, here are a few updated pics of your girl. She's so bushy now!:yummy:
These are pics before what will be her final trim. I'm so happy with the health
and girth of Betsy I'll probably put her into flower in a few weeks. Let me know

She's totally filling the phototron, trying to break free.:laughtwo:
She also likes the light right on top of her, no more than 6 inches above her.
I did a super prune of fan leaves crammed against walls of Phototron and
where new shoots needed fan leaf energy to make another budding site.:yummy:
She looks tiny (not really) after her trim. I'll post those pics in my next update.
Comments and advice welcome.:peacetwo:

Re: Phototron Re-lit. Seasoned grill.

Hello to those still around.:laughtwo:

If you were following my hydro grow, you know that grow Had to be shut down.
Managed to save Betsy, she needed to stay with a friend for a while. Not knowing
how to care for her except her feeding, I got her home recently, just to find out
I had a full blown spider mite white fly infestation.:thedoubletake::loopy:
The following pics are from 2 weeks ago, more details in the next update.

Re: Phototron Re-lit. Seasoned grill.

Hi all:ciao:

Let's get started..

Had to snap out of losing the hydro grow because Betsy in the Phototron was
now fully infested with spider mites and White flies. I recently picked up some stuff
that's supposed to be safe to use around pets and children, a peppermint based spray.
Without thinking it all the way through I sprayed
her down heavy. Only problem was her bed time was only a few hours away.
My method for cutting out light leak is to wrap two blankets around her as soon as I can
after the timer kicks off. See the problem? Looking back I figured
it out, I trapped all the fumes in the Phototron no fresh air. I could smell the
spray for two days on her. Leaves started falling off in droves. most of the small underbrush
started dying. I decided to try to spray everything down with fresh water, to rinse any residue of the spray off.
Since leaves were still dying off. Put down some rags so the runoff doesn't go into the soil, sprayed every leaf
and every branch. It seems to have helped, only time will tell...
Here come the pics.

Re: Phototron Re-lit. Seasoned grill.

When it rains it pours!!!:thedoubletake:

The last watering of the phototron was a disaster. Some water got into the
electrical. Yes full panic mode 5 minutes to get out the door, so after trying
another plug and a few panicked breaths I remembered recently purchasing a
quick fix top canopy light. Hooked it up ran out the door and worried all day.
Happy to get home to see she was o.k. even without the side lighting in the phototron. (Mylar is great.)
I went all over town looking for a replacement for the bits and pieces of the phototron. No luck.
Went to my hydro store for a solution, no luck got double talk about a light
they offered me for 50 buck few weeks back. :loopy:Oh well..
Went to that depot, with the knowledge the hydro guy gave me without knowing he did. :;):
Found the T12 bulbs and the light fixture was only $10. YES.:yahoo:
Picked up two headed home and got to work setting up my closet.
2 hours later I was finally done here are the pics.

Re: Phototron Re-lit. Seasoned grill.

Damn...sounds like you don't have any luck. I am curious on how this one turns out. I am a little late on this thread, but I am in.

Sup brother.

I know.. sounds like a mess but through it all I must say, the things I've learned
in my first grow has made the mishaps of this grow easier to rebound from.
Lights. I was made paranoid comments about my lack of light, made me the
light man way more bulbs than I had plants to put under them.:grinjoint:
This time it worked out a fixture I picked up for only $5. (Simply a long extension
cord with a light fixture with on/off switch.) is what I used as a temporary fix
and now is the canopy light of my closet setup:smokin:

Thanks for checking out my grow, good to know you guys are still out there..:goof:

Where did you find that?? I have been looking for something like this with no luck..

Blind luck, convenience store 1 in a million I should go back see if they have any more.
If you go to that depot and describe what you want to make; they will be your best bet.
Thanks for passing thru.:grinjoint:

It seems like the "Heat" starts give in to you some hard time

Good eye bro.:cheer:

The move from the phototron to the closet setup was a learning experience.
Raised the light and vented the closet, more info in the update.

Re: Phototron Re-lit. Seasoned grill.

Ok all

After a lot of feeling ashamed I'll give you the heart break along with the truth
about the shame.

The spider mites have taken hold again and again and...
Now that she is in flower I have less choices. In the following pics you'll see
my new lady bug army being deployed more leave the plant than stay.
Just woke up with one last night didn't realize it till the reflex/crunch sound
woke me in time to spit it out!!!
Oh well all's fair in love and war.. Love to grow can't stand the spider mite war.
Plucked a lot of the dead burned/spider mite killed leaves, only not to be as
on the ball with her schedule as I should have been which resulted in more burned
leaves.Work schedule is hectic this weekend changed lights to 4 hours after
normal lights on/off
Is this O.k.? No visible effects yet the second update will be just pics of my
lack of being able to over come the overheating issue..
Is there any thing natural that's more aggressive than ladybugs I can use in
the flowering stage?

Here are the pics approx. 2 weeks ago..

Re: Phototron Re-lit. Seasoned grill.

Hey I was just wondering how this ended up going. I was just given a phototron and I am looking to see what peoples sucess rate is like. I am currently battling spider mites and white flies in my phototron. I am using Neem Oil and it seems to be working pretty well.

Also, do you just dump your dirt straight into the base of the Phototron? Or is there a bag in there?
