Id like to start off by saying :thank you: for checking out my journal! I didn't put the strains in the title because there are too many lol but here we go;AK-48, Purple Kush, OG Kush, White Widow, G-13, Tooty Fruity, 2 different unknown strains, and 2 strains that iv never heard of; Oh My Gosh, and Orange Cough. I recently picked up a new patient and he obtained all of the above strains(except the one of the unknown strains and the AK i had seeds from nirvana)from a local club. I tried to look up info on the omg and the orange cough but i couldn't find zip which has me pretty skeptical but if anybody has any info or impute on those two strains it would be greatly appreciated. I was ill prepared and 3 hours away from home when i took the clones so i went to wally world and picked up some $5 rooting powder and some party cups and got to work. I used soil from his garden. These clones are 12 days old except the purple kush is idk how old and the AK is from 14 days from seed. I will pick 5 or 6 out of these to keep for mothers and and flower out the rest. There are 4 ods, 2 of the g13,og kush,BS,orange cough,and 1 of the rest. So without further ado how bout some picks of the baby's

Purple Kush(this one is a lot older than the other ones, my guy was tiring to grow it for a while but it was in a sure to grow cube and when he tried to plant it outside in his garden it got root bound in the cube and it was all messed up but hopefully i can turn things around for this little lady)

Unknown Strain #1 (This is a strain my guy got from a friend of his that is a breeder, he said he grew it last year and it was some of the best smoke he had ever had so i guess we'll see and from now on I'll be calling it BS, he suggested boom stick but BS sounds better to me lol)

Unknown Strain #2(My uncle is a long time grower and he had a few extra clones that he gave to myself and my dad. My dad is growing them outside and i took a few clones from them because if my uncle is growing this stuff i know from experience it will be good stuff. I will post some pics of those outdoor plants at my pops later, and from now on I'll be calling this stuff OD)

Also a few of these are showing the first sign of flowering. I took them on august 9th so i think they were moving into the first stages of flowering but I'm sure they'll straiten out. They are currently under a 10 cfl fixture that i diy'ed. They are 100 watt replacements and 50/50 6500k/2700k. For the first 7 days i covered the cups with plastic wrap for humidity as i don't have a dome yet. I mist twice a day with water from my dehumidifier. Thanks again for checking out my journal !

OK so the clones have been in the soil cups for 2 weeks now. Today I got the final parts for my diy power cloner. I decided to go ahead and transplant the ones that will be going in either a drip or dwc hydro system into the cloner. As i said the rest will be long term mothers. Also the mothers will get transplanted into larger soil pots tomorrow. I was really surprised by the root growth on some of the clones after only 14 days in soil. I'll include a pic of what i mean.

OK so i transplanted the mothers into there new homes but in the bonehead move of the day i only grabbed 5 pots instead of 6 so the G-13 will have to wait til tomorrow lol. Heres some picks

Now that these ladies are out of the cups i put a small fan oscillating on them.

I got that G-13 transplanted into her new home and the roots looked great like all the other mothers. Some of the plants in the cloner have added as much as 5 inches to they're roots in two days! Ill update with pics tomorrow.

Wow the root growth in this cloner is amazing this ones roots grew a foot in 3 days!

This ones gonna be bushy

The clones in the cloner will either go into a drip system or a dwc system but either way they will be in 5 gallon buckets with 6" net pots. I haven't made the decision yet so i would really appreciate some impute on which way you guys think i should go.

I picked up the bucket lid net pots, the hydroton, and the buckets today. Ill be taking everything out of the grow room, cleaning up, putting up the mylar/panda film, and possibly put a couple of the clonies in their new home Ill update with pics a little later.

Alright i got tired last night and only got as far as putting the mylar up so i finished the rest tonight. I included pics about every step of step of the process. I didn't get pics of the roots before i transplanted them but i should of because they were crazy. I still have to install ventilation, the climate controller, and the 600 watt cool tube in the flower room. I'm using the 400 watt with the MH bulb for veg right now and hopefully ill be able to put together enough $$ by the time i need it to get another 600 watt cool tube for the flower room so ill be able to keep the 400 watt for veg. If not ill move the 400 watt over to the flower room with the HPS bulb. Hopefully i don't have to do the later. Heres some picks, Ill start off with the massive pile of equipment lol.

The plants will be going in 2 at a time for a nice perpetual harvest.

I relocated 2 more clonies to bubble buckets today. Top right is OMG and bottom right is another Orange Cough. The OMG is a really pretty plant right now so i took a close up.

I have a question also Showtime. I recently received a couple of clones and the tips of the leaves were cut like yours were. Is there a reason for that?

Yes they are cut because plants sweat through they're leaves, cutting the leaves cuts down the surface area through which they can sweat and we want them to retain as much water as possible since when they are clones they don't have roots to suck water yet. Also iv heard it makes the plant concentrate more on producing roots, don't know if that ones true though. Either way it seems to work out.

The AK-48 hasn't been looking so hot ever since i transplanted it. The lower leaves(I'm not referring to the first two leaves, those fall off, thats normal) have browned and curled a little. I think i might have damaged the roots during the transplant because also it doesn't seem to have grown much since then. Its starting to fall behind the other mothers so i stuck it under the hps to hopefully catch it back up. We'll see i guess. On a lighter note the other 4 under the hps have grown a noticeable amount in 1 and 2 days.

I did some more work on the grow room tonight. I installed the exhaust fan, its a 6" 400 cfm active air by hydrofarm. I had noticed in my attached garage(which was added on 20 years or so after the house was built) that there were glass blocks that was a window into my grow room at some point. Also when the basement was partially finished a wall was put up over the old window. So i chiseled out one of the glass blocks and cut a slot out of the top of the wall and bam! exhaust port. And as an added bonus I'm hoping by exhausting into my garage it will keep it warm in the winter. So in that respect my grow room will be an expensive garage heater lol. Also i ran some ducting and mounted/hooked up my C.A.P. air 2 climate controller which controls the exhaust fan for temp and the dehumidifier for humidity separately for better control. I think this grow room is finally starting to come together

Now when i hook up the 600 watt cool tube i just have to throw on a connector and the flexible ducting. I stuck my hand up there and this things got some serious suction. It almost sucked my hand in lol.

This is the G-13 mother like the AK ever since the transplant she hasn't been looking so hot, real droopy, maybe its the soil...

I added 2 more plants and picked up a digital thermometer. Its an inside/outside thermometer so it has a wire that you run outside or in my case into the flower side of my grow room so it works out perfect. It also reads humidity as well as temp and min/max for both. Also i always love how how plants take off in hydro. Also FYI the 85 degrees is directly under the light, its about 75 in the rest of the room.

Alright so this purple kush plant has looked exactly the same ever since i got it like a month ago if anything it has declined in health so if anybody has any insight into this problem or have any ideas on what i can do please let me know because i really would like to grow out some of this wonderful smoke.

Bad news, I just heard from my dad the OD's are male. So they got the axe. I replaced the OD in the bubble bucket with the other g13 from the cloner. With the 2 ods and the g13 out of the cloner that leaves only the tooty fruity and i figured 1 plant is not worth keeping the cloner on but theres no room left under the 400 for another bucket. So i made a bubble jug, lol, to hold the tooty fruity over till some of the plants go to the flower room and some room opens up under the 400. Also i moved the g13 mother under the400 because it hasn't been looking so hot and i figured maybe some good light will perk it up.

check the temperature where the leaves are on the purp Kush plant. It looks like it might be a bit higher than the others and might be getting more heat from the light. If it goes over 90 degrees it's going to stop growing & the leaves will start to die (speaking from personal experience).

Thanks for the advise ganjaballz although i don't think thats the deal because i put the thermo right under the flouros and the max temp was right around 80. I guess its starting to look a little better though. i was thinking maybe i should cut the little shoot off and try to clone it but I'm gonna give it another couple weeks to see if it comes around.

Looks great man I love a good DIY guy as Im a McGruber type myself plants looking good though keep it up.

yah you really have to make your rounds to other journals and get your link up in the sig so they know where to find yah. but you got some nice equipment and seems like some good growing skills so people should migrate over eventually.

Just check out every other members first journals usually pages of people talking to themselves untill others catch on lol.
