Raiven's 1st Indoor Grow: THC Bomb Auto / Cr+ / Fruity Chronic Juice - 2014

Thank you for checking out my new journal!!
This is the FIRST journal of the FIRST grow of the FIRST attempt to grow anything EVER by me, Raiven...


Thank you in advance to all the people for all the help, encouragement and advice that I am hoping will come with this journal...
I am going to put as much detail and images into this as I possibly can...
Please let me know if I am missing any vital details you may need to help me along...


I will start from the beginning...
Originally I had plans for an attic grow room...This idea was sound in theory but proved to be almost disastrous in practice...I have attached photos to this first post showing you the design and almost step by step construction along with parts and finished rooms...I am not going to go to in depth with this aspect of the grow cause it only lasted one day...Basically the air exchange system I put in should have been enough from what i thought initially but it was unable to be effective against the temperature problem...Bottomline, between fans and exhaust and intake I could not keep the rooms under 110 degrees even at night!!!...This high temperature was way more out of hand than I thought it was going to be...I knew the attic would get hot and retain heat but I did not imagine it was going to get THAT hot and stay that hot for such extended periods of time...Needless to say at the end of the first day the plants were in there I took them right out...I could not justify the purchase and 24 hour constant running of a portable A/C or regular A/C for that matter...So I moved them to my studio room for vegetation and I will be constructing a box for flowering...

From this post on I will be giving DAILY updates with full detail and photos...
The next 22 posts will be fairly rapid and should be up tonight, documenting the first 22 days of the grow from seed in water to present day status...

This first post here is to give you a few details about the operation per the direction of the Sticky: How To Make A Grow Journal...

I have enough room for 3 plants in veg and 3 plants in flower...
Currently I have 3 THC Bomb Auto in veg...
One week before those go to flower I will be putting 1 seed of Cr+, 1 seed of Fruity Chronic Juice & 1 more seed of THC Bomb into germination...

See all other details below and let me know if any more are needed!!

-What strain is it?
Bomb Seeds THC Bomb AUTO Feminized
BlimBurn Seeds Cr + Feminized
Delicious Seeds Fruity Chronic Juice Feminized

-Is it Indica, Sativa or Hybrid? What percentages?
THC Bomb - Indica Sativa & Ruderalis
Cr + - Indica & Sativa
Fruity Chronic Juice - Indica

-Is it in Veg or Flower stage?
Vegetative Stage

-If in Veg... For how long?
11 Days

-Indoor or outdoor?
Indoor

-Soil or Hydro?
Soil

-If soil... what is in your mix?
I am using Fox Farm Ocean Forest.

-If soil... What size pot?
3 Gallon Pots direct from water/paper towel germination.

-Size of light?
6 - 23w (100w) 5000k CFLs for Veg. & 6 - 23w (100w) 2700k for Flower

-Is it aircooled?
Indirectly. Currently veg. room is my studio room. Plants are on a tall custom table which is going to be made into a box. Fans and natural air movement cool the room as of now.

-Temp of Room/cab?
Range of temperature goes from 70 deg to 104 deg. High temps have recently been corrected by A/C install.

-Any Pests ?
No pests.

-How often are you watering?
Watering occurs as needed or at least every Monday & Thursday.

-Type and strength of ferts used?
I am currently using everything on and according to the Fox Farm Soil Feeding Schedule, with the exception of "Kangaroots", which was added to the list after I had already ordered everything.
As for strength; I have been kind of "winging" it with the ratios of nutes to water. I will spell out each feeding in the daily posts so you can see how I broke it down. This WHOLE grow will pretty much be a trial and error experience for me.

-3 seeds of THC Bomb Auto
-All three seeds placed in water cup
-Water Ph tested to be at 6.8 straight from tap

-One seed sank and two were still floating
-Sunken seed had slightly popped open and could see tiny tip of root
-Pushed other two seeds down and they sank to the bottom

-All three seeds remained at the bottom of the water cup
-All seeds have popped at this time, two very little & first one has gotten to about 1/4" long
-Placed all seeds on wet paper towel on plate then covered with another plate

-All 3 seeds have sprouts
-One seed sprout approx. 1" long, both other seed sprouts approx. 1/4" long

-Transferred all seeds to individual pots
-3 - 3 gallon black pots with drainage holes
-Seeds placed approx. 1" deep into soil
-Saran wrap placed over top of each pot to act as moisture dome
-No Nutrients
-Poured enough water in each to soak a rockwool cube
-Misted moisture domes for humidity
-Placed pots in ATTIC veg. room
-24 hr light
-24 hour intake and exhaust vents running

Seedling Day 1

-One sprout has grown up through the soil
-Both others have not come thru yet
-No nutes
-Water misted on domes
-Water misted onto soil at base of sprout and at the site where the other two seedlings were planted
-Temp.: 78 deg. to 91 deg
-Hum.: 35% - 68%
-Fan added to room for temp control / 24 hrs

-Still only one sprout up through the soil
-No Nutes
-Water misted on each dome and each seed site
-Temp.: 79 deg - 108 deg
-Hum.: 35% - 66%
-REMOVED FROM VEG. TENT due to extreme temp.
-Moved each plant to studio room table
-No light from 6:45 pm - 12 am
-Added single CFL lamp at 12 am

-A second seedling has sprouted up thru the soil
-No Nutes
-Water poured in for each plant and each dome was misted
-First full day in studio room
-Temp.: 85 deg - 95 deg
-Hum.: 25% - 40%
-Setup veg.. lights for 24 hr light

-Third seedling finally popped thru soil

-Starting Seedling & Cuttings week feed schedule tomorrow
-Removing domes tomorrow, plants are getting too high for the saran wrap

-The two larger plants look very healthy
-Smaller of the three looks healthy but leaves have curled down a bit and I noticed a tiny bit of yellowing on the edges
-First day of nutrients (Fox Farm Soil Feeding Schedule "Seedlng & Cuttings" week)
-----Big Bloom: 1/2 Tsp
-----Mixed into 1/2 quart of water
-----Mixture poured equally into each plant
-Temp.: 70 deg - 108 deg
-Hum.: 25% - 35%
-Removed domes
-24 hr light

-Rotated each plant 1/2 turn

-Lights went off somehow for unknown period of time
-Fan leaves were bowing down a bit
-Lights put back on and the leaves came back up quickly

-No water poured
-Slight mist applied to each plant
-Temp.: 70 deg - 100 deg
-Hum.: 25% - 58%
-1/4 turn rotation for each plant
-23+/- hrs of light
-Fanned plants for 1 - 2 hrs
