Hi 420Mag people
Hope your all having a good time and welcome to my first DWC grow journal.
I'm really excited for my first time here.


What strain is it? Casey Jones
Is it Indica, Sativa Sativa/Indica 20% / 80%
Is it in Veg? Yeah, it's Veg for about 2 day so far
Indoor or outdoor? Grow tent 3.2''x3.2''x6.5''
Soil or Hydro? Hydro
Light? 450 LED
Is it aircooled? I just have 6" inline fan for intake air from outside my place
Temp of Room/cab? 85 F
RH of Room/cab? 52 - 55
Any Pests ? Nope
Not using any fertilizer yet




[Aug 1] Germinate using paper towel method with pH'd water.
After two day i just place it in Rockwool cube [pre-soak for an hour or two] and moving to my tent

How height did you hang a light from the plant on this early veg time?

I usually kept mine around 18" on my latest grow. On my first grow I had to raise it a bit higher because the plants looked a bit stressed.

oh yea as far as light goes I believe photoperiod plants need some sort of rest
go back a few pages on my latest journal I do 18/6 some people believe in 24/0
I just look at it this way how well do you heal if your not rested

That's what I believe so far, some people just tell me to put it on 24/0.
Suppose the plant is a human, it won't have any time to sleep.
it will exhausted for sure.

I went with 18/6 for my first grow. It treated me really well. I agree that it makes sense to have some form of a dark period. I do keep a fan and air moving 24/0. I used to see a lot more people pushing 24/0 in the late 90s and early 00s, but it seems to be less prevalent now.

A little update here, reservoir pH = 5.8 with temp around 84 F
my grow tent temp usually swing around 90 - 95 F [is it too hot?]

84 in the res is hot
it try to max in the mid 70's
a lot of people who use non organic nutes end up with root problems with high temps like that
mine get up in the mid 70's but I believe the nutes and amendments helps combat root rot
theres a few product to help the root zone
aquashield/hydroguard and there was something else someone was using
im using hydroguard now its a bit expensive but the amount you use per gallon is only 2 ml so itll last awhile

I change the way to place my intake fan so the temp lower to be around 85

In DWC hydroponics with a tap water.
Do I really need CalMag plus ? because I wonder after the plant grow under LED light.
Do they required more Cal mag nutes? i'm planning to get one but don't know that is it worth?

I veg under flouros and bloom under led's
I use cal mag during veg I rarely use during bloom unless its show deficiency which probably happened once so far
do you really need it? I doubt it but its good to have at least you know you have it if you need it
especially in hydro theres no other way to add
like I said I use only during veg unless
and that's usually only 3 or 4 weeks so I only get a small bottle quart size and it usually lasts awhile
mind you I don't have more than 7 plants at a time all of which are on different schedules as far as how many weeks in

oh yea I also would like ot mention I use the tap here so there may be some calcium and other things in the water
the tap is pretty damn good on this island so I use it straight
water dependent on your area also and if you use r/o water
