Maine State Housing Authority decides cannabis is out of section 8 housing

The Maine State Housing Authority has decided it will not provide rental assistance to anyone who uses, possesses or cultivates medical cannabis in apartments that are paid for in part through the federal Section 8 program. They say this is due to the federal funding and federal laws taking precedence over state law.

I see this as a move by small minded folks to try to stop the use of medical marijuana. So the rich folks a few blocks over get relief while folks in REAL NEED are forced to live without the benefit of medical marijuana.

This is Bullshit

The Maine Housing Authority should be ashamed of their decision.

Further in Maine, believe it or not, it is the young republicans who have introduced bills to legalize cannabis in Maine... Look close at the folks you are voting for and point blank ask them what their position is. Screw "Hope" and let us vote for the folks who will actually "Change" the bogus laws we live with now.

... and further, medical marijuana is extremely expensive, most folks don't see the benifits of medical marijuana and don't want to pay for that. When you say it is OK you have to provide it... or...

These folks should be given fenced gardens for each apartment to not only grow medicine they could also grow food! Those who are subsidizing them would reap the benefits of FAR less pharmaceutical costs and if taught well how to maintain their gardens FAR less food costs. That is a self sustaining model. Why the fuck are we not doing it?

greed and corruption.

I am going to get spun up like a top. The folks at the top are keeping these folks without resources and give just enough to keep them needing... fuck that, give them a fence, some dirt and a handful of seeds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
