Maryland successfully decriminalized back in April of 2014. (law active: 10/01/2014)

Its a $100 dollar fine for 10 grams or less, 1st offense. (similar to a traffic ticket, civil offense) The 2nd is $250, 3rd is $500 and "go to classes"

This is a decent start but FAR from legalization. And by the looks of the MMJ program they are putting together in the state's capitol the best hope here is full out legalization, no doubt about it. There was a bill floating during session this past Spring but it died quietly. Next time around I think it will have a MUCH better chance.
