Ref. Cannabis Research A-Z

Someone like the CBD CREW or someone who has very extensive knowledge of strains. Leafy is good but the list needs to go by Alphabet so folks can see there ailments and it is easy for them to pick the strain they need. I would think it would boost sales by at least 20% because of quick knowledge.

I'd also like it if Leafly would show the THC/CBD content of each strain. They only have that for a few strains.

But yes it would be nice if they'd list all the disorders and then post the strains that are known to be good for them.

Find a strain like charlotte's web that has high amount of cbd.

I've been told by a friend who uses the COPD group on Facebook that it's not CBD's that help with this but the THC...in the Oil. I tried that for a few months...no help so stopped it. I used it at bedtime so I wouldn't feel the effects. We need research! Just thought maybe I'd get lucky and somebody with the same issue would suggest a strain that helps. But thanks to you guys for responding.

Rocky, I don't know if you'll catch this, but it caught my eye, and I spent some time opportunistically tumbling through the Internet. What I've learned suggests the best approach is a combination of edibles and inhallation, preferably with a vaporizer.

As to strains, I'd probably go with something in an even ratio, 1:1, or at the most 1:2 THC:CBD. I'd also look for the highest CBD I could find to get those THC values up there. Most CBD strains are lucky to hit 15%, although that playing field changes almost daily any more. You want as rich a CBD product as you can get with as much THC as the patient can tolerate.

We have a couple threads you might be interested in. The first is on processing the CCO (Concentrated Cannabis Oil) into what we call biobombs. These capsules combine the oil with a carrier oil (I highly recommend extra-virgin olive, organic if possible) and liquid sunflower lecithin to take the bioavailability of the CCO from 30% max through the gut to potentially 90%.

The second is a method of processing the plant into fresh harvest infused oil. The retention of terpenes and flavonoids this process offers potentiates the oil in surprising ways. If it were me I'd be making a FHO and using it in capsules to dose 3-4 times a day, three of them regular strength, and the last one of the day double strength.

Fresh Harvest Infused Cannabis Oil

Depending on the severity of the disease I'd also slot in some vaping, 1-2 inhallations, as tolerated by the patient.

The CBD Critical Cure from Barney's Farm is a 2:1 with possibilities of 10% THC and 15% CBD, grown the way we do in this virtual neighborhood. I use it for my daughter's anxiety, but one of the side benefits we weren't expecting was that she hasn't refilled her inhaler for asthma but once since she started using the capsules a year ago. I highly recommend it as a choice for COPD.

Thank you SweetSue for your suggestions. I'm so glad that CBD worked for your daughter! I may give it a try...will chew on it for a while. It sure would be nice if someone was doing some research right now on cannabis and lung diseases. I don't think I could ever do edibles just because I don't trust them. We need more accurate dosing which edibles just can't give yet. I've got some very adequate vaping mods and am glad I can do that. I got some Tincture today for the first time so that should be interesting. I'll use that at bedtime. What I really need is for you to buy the house next door and make my oil for me and deliver it to me each day. Ha!

Thanks again for your good suggestions. I'll share them with my friend that's also got COPD. :)

The capsules are fairly controlled doses Rocky. Not being able to get the oil tested we can only make best guesses, but the doses will still be consistent. The lecithin disperses everything beautifully. I hope the tincture works well for you. Sublingual is an excellent pathway.

As to the relocation and oil deliveries, you aren't alone in that desire. Lol!

SweetSue... I'm so glad to see that you'll be my personal caregiver, delivering my meds every day from now on. :cheer:

Well, I'm pretty impressed with the work you did to ORGANIZE all that important information at your "Cannabis Dosing - Delivery Methods and Dosing Guidelines" link. :bravo: I'm enjoying it thoroughly and learning a few things too! Thanks for all the work you put into that project!

I will encourage everyone I know to give that link a good look-around. Hope you have a great day!

Hello all. I noticed there wasn't a VCDC review up there, or I missed it. I'm currently growing 2 female VCDC plans and will be harvesting them in about a week. I'm pretty much a hypochondriac even if I hate to admit it but I definitely suffer from Anxiety/Panic attacks regularly. I've gotten over it for a few years while I was in the military but now im out, and it's back. It started back after I smoked a bowel and that's been 8 months ago. I'm hoping that smoking a high CBD strain will help me out but it's smoking weed in general that started the entire horrible situation that I'm in. Anybody that can relate?

A certain number of the population is sensitive to sativas. My daughter has a severe anxiety disorder and a sativa will send her anxiety levels to suicidal levels, so we avoid them at all cost. If that was what you smoked I'm not surprised that it triggered a neurochemical cascade that ramped up the anxiety.

Including a strain with at least a balanced ratio will be a good thing for you IMHO. I grow a CBD Critical Cure from Barney's Farm for my daughter, with some indica dominants in rotation to cut back on breakthrough anxiety. The CBD CC is a 2:1 CBD:THC. It stopped anxiety in its tracks and has been incredibly effective for her. We have her on a regimen of capsules on a regular schedule. She's had her first taste of anxiety-free living since we started this regimen a year ago.

I have every confidence that you're on the right path and will be amazed at the relief you'll gain with your impending harvest. It should do much for the hypochondriatic streak you try to keep from acknowledging. :laughtwo:

Thank you so much for the reply! I'm not sure if the 2 plants are sativa or indica, but I will test them on myself and post my result so hopefully 1 day it may help someone else, as you have helped me. Thank you, and god bless

It's an indica-dominant with a 20:1 CBD:THC ratio. You may find yourself needing some THC to help with balance. The general idea is to get a rich-CBD product with as much THC as you can tolerate comfortably. If you don't get the relief you hope for at first try blending with an indica with higher THC levels. It's all trial and error.

I'll be very interested in how that ratio effects you.
