Draft medical marijuana regulations published

The New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) has released the draft regulations for the Medical Marijuana Program.

Anne Davis, executive director of NORML-NJ is concerned that the draft regulations are far too restrictive. She issued the following statement:

"We stand with the bill's sponsor, Senator Nicholas Scutari, in his disappointment with the draft regulations. DHSS has clearly invested their time in developing these draft regulations. However, we feel they have misinterpreted the spirit of the law."

Governor Christie's message is clear: His administration's influence on the regulations has left New Jersey patients with a Compassionate Use Act that omits compassion.

NORML NJ will be intensifying our work with local advocacy groups and elected officials. We will not sit idle while patients continue to suffer."

This whole situation would be a joke but it's not funny. I can't believe some anti- marijuana crusader slipped this into the regulations:
1)The cannabinoid profile of the medical marijuana contained within the package, including THC level not to exceed 10 percent
2) An ATC–plant cultivation shall cultivate no more than three strains of medical marijuana

These proposed regs have to be designed so that mmj in NJ will be endlessly delayed, or fail if it's not. Very frustrating.
