Trimming fan leaves

Can anyone tell me if it's okay to clip the larger fan leaves to allow more light to the colas? I am doing a scrog and I went on vacation for 2 weeks so I wasn't able to do any tucking

. Needless to say things got a little out of control when I got back. So now I'm just trying to keep things low and the fan leaves seem to be getting in the way of a lot of the light that could be going to the colas. These pics are of before I left for vacation and when I got back.

In scrog you just have to do it.

Yes you should!

I have been going crazy with my bigger outdoor girls. "Lollipopping" about 1/3 up from the bottom and removing most of the stuff that's not getting much sunlight. They haven't seemed to mind a bit. They're way bigger than I want them to be, so I don't mind about slowed growth.
I have no experience with this, and I could well be messing with them a bit much, but they seem pretty happy.
I wouldn't try it with plants that are struggling, though.
