What to do with the extra?

Does anyone have information on what to do with any extra medicine that a caregiver may have after a grow?
If a client does not need their usual monthly amount due to various reasons, such as their condition is in remission, they will be traveling or hospitalized etc what are options for the extra?

I know the dispensaries can buy the extra, but they don't have to if the don't want to....we can't flush it down the drain, that would pollute the water,as other meds have been doing for years, and it's probaly illegal....can't burn it,what if children in the area are exposed...can't throw it out, not sure if that's legal either and if anyone found out your trash would be ransacked each day....you can give it to other card holders but how do you find them ?
Lots of questions....looking for what we can do, not what you could do....
Also you can only have so much on hand....there should be some guidelines for this....
Ok, let's hear some feedback...
Thanks!

Some caregivers are selling it to other patients or caregivers who possess a legitimate medical card via craigslist. The postings are listed under the health section (careful discretion is advised).

Also, patients in Massachusetts may be looking to buy medicine since there are no dispensaries set up yet. Depending on where you are located in the state, not sure if this is a viable option for you.

Either way, good luck!

Ouch @ destroying it.

I need to clarify. Legally, you cannot "sell" it, but you are allowed to receive a "donation" from another caregiver or patient ( just make sure that you physically see his/her card before handing over the medicine).

If you take a peek at the listings on craigslist, you will see how others word their ads (if you decide to go that route).

Or maybe you can turn some of the meds into butter/oils/tincture/edibles so that you are not over your legal limit.
