Brand new to growing and had a seed germination question

I was given two bag seeds by a friend to get me started. I soaked one in water for 14 hours then put it in a damp paper towel and it sprouted a tap root in 2 days and has been planted and broke the surface a week ago.

Five days ago I put the second seed in water and left it in for 14 hours and then put it in a damp paper towel. Four days later I'm seeing nothing. I am thinking it is probably a non-viable seed and a waste of time. But before tossing it I wanted to see what ya'll thought.

Yeah I'd chuck it. 4 days its getting too long.

It happens.

Seeds that germinate in 2 days or less usually grow well.
