Not sure how a plant can grow without the seed germinating first?

thanks for the clarity. Reason I asked cuz all the publications and such for the growers/hydoponics systems I've seen made it seem like everything was done on its one. Like all I had to do was but the seed in there and viola, there you go. But yea, i was thinking i still had to do the germinating myself, as opposed to it doing that on its own.
