Clone problem

I have used jiffy pots and clonex for years with no problem. Recently my last two groups of cuttings would not root. Generally they root in 9-12 days at most. I have not changed the procedure in any way. Anything come to mind anyone?-bd

Different strain? Some strains are a real bugger to get to root.

have you tried scarifying the stem a little? Scrape lightly the out layer with a razor exposing the cambium layer? Roots will grow from this layer better.

Nope, same strain for the last 7 mo, w widow, I always scarify, I think it helps to root faster. thanks for the reply man.-bd

Hi, only notable difference is the clonex gel I just bought seems much thicker. It used to be like egg whites generally, but that is all.-bd

If nothing has changed in your setup, process, temperature, etc. then I would get a new batch of rooting solution. Do you heat under your cloning tray? That may help also.

and did not change anything in the way of my procedure.

something must have changed..

the top part of a mother dosn't root as well as the bottom, more hormones from the bottom up.
