hi i am wondering if my ballast can use MH and HPS on my ballast its got
250/MH/HPS 400/MH/HPS 600/MH/HPS 1000/MH/HPS what does this mean does it mean i can use MH and HPS could please sumeone help

It sounds like your ballast can do both, but wait till Boss checks in, and he can confirm for you.

seems strange that your ballast lists all different wattages. Do you have a brand and model #?

no thier no X i bought it from ebay and it did say it was a 400 watt but was wonderin what those number meant aswell if i could use any different watts also with MH/HPS is this meanin it can use both MH and HPS thanks

That is a generic cover that should have a stamp under the 400. That label won't tell you if it's switchable. Is there anything else on it?

hi i opened up the bllast and on one of the cylinders it got 400/MH/HPS and 450/MH does this mean it can take MH thanks all

Can you take some photos? I hate to give you bad info. But it sounds like a 400 mh/hps, but does it have a switch?

My Hydrofarm ballast can run both hps and mh and there is no switch. My ballast is an ANSI 59 certification so I just buy the bulbs that use ansi 59. I was able to get my 400 watt MH from Home Depot for about $40 bucks if I remember correctly....
