Growing leaves not height?

Hi everyone, I am brand new here and not sure if I am posting this in the right place. I have been looking through all the forums and see what a wealth of knowledge is out there and am hoping to take advantage. It has been 20 days since my little guy has broken the surface. I am getting new leaves in but not growing in height. Their are a lot of roots already grown into the water in my basin. We are currently sitting at about 2" tall and has been for about a week. I have only added a less than quarter strength amount of General Hydroponics Flora Micro.

A picture would help out, but generally for indoor growing, you want short and dense growth like you described. It sounds like your plant is doing just fine.
