I am not that new, but my signature links drive me nuts, becuase it shows the whole url. Can someone help me figure out how to hide the url so that it just shows the colored words?

In the post or reply window there is a row of icons. The globe with the chain link. Hit that. It will create a title for you or you can edit it yourself. You can add text at the start or after the URL parentheses. See the black text "First Grow Fail"? That I added after the parentheses.
