One of the biggest complaints I heard for people in the cannabis industry was having an agency under the department of ABC. Looks like it's going to have it's own department and I think that is good. We'll see!
This is probably premature when discussing the two recent bills, but it is paramount that we have laws in place prior to "adult-use" being legalized. Medical patients, dispensaries and those who grow for medical needs should be allowed to continue regardless of legalization. If the state does...
The two recent bills in California to regulate medical cannabis fail to get past committee like every other bill. Newsome feels we should regulate medical marijuana first before the state votes to legalize adult use on November 8, 2016. That would take signatures which would start collecting...
This isn't the best article on this story! There are many more who did not endorse this piece of legislation. When your bill is backed by the League of City's and the California Police Chiefs Association, there's going to be push back. These two groups have been among toughest opponents with...
Let's see, the police chief believes that by outlawing growing that it is going to stop "felony sales". Were all the "felony sales" directly related to grows in San Pablo? "Sales" aren't going to stop in fact this will increase profit potential for black-market sales. Decrease supply, increase...
If the California Police Chiefs Association and the League of Cities signing off that this legislation is good only means that it's bad. Cal-NORML and Tom Ammiano believe it's poorly written and must be amended. Don Duncan seems to like over nothing at all. Sorry Don, this won't fly either.
This is good news and common sense. Here in California, from what I have seen, most medical cannabis operators want to provide good jobs. Jobs that people/families can survive on. A great deal of the time the Fed Gov't prevents employers from treating their employees well. Also, the UFCW works...
It's a weird dynamic here in California. It's illegal to make but ok for the dispensaries/collectives to give to patients. But you only see someone getting busted when they blow themselves up.
Weed Collection Boxes Remain Empty At Colorado Airport:
Maybe they should check their source. If the guy who goes around to the boxes to collect the pot is telling you that the boxes are empty, you might want to look yourself.
What you quote is correct but the only problem is the order to the AG to transfer/remove the substance comes from congress not the president. I wish it was that simple.
Not all banks/credit unions are insured by the federal gov't. This will be huge in the state of California where dispensaries who are following state-law can't get bank services for payroll, checking accounts and loans. If this is true, it will be great for the medical cannabis industry.
