I'm actually re reading, and I believe it's only dangerous if you are adjusting the voltage of the variac outside the fans limits. As long as it is run at max fan voltage, or below, there should be no risk to fire or equipment damage.

I just read another article that says it is not safe to use an AC rated variac to control an AC motor. I am assuming that using a variac could be potentially dangerous to use on my Can Fan? I was planning on buying the VSC-DNe, but I just want to make sure that it will work on my fan...

Anyone?

I have the same thing, only sold by HTG, and it causes the bad motor hum. I've read that most centrifugal fans cannot be run on a rheostat/dimmer such as that controller because it will cause the motor to burn out. EDIT: This is the one that I bought --- HTG Supply - Blower / Fan Speed Control

:) thanks, hopefully it will serve as some use to other people too. Do you think that this feeding schedule is fairly strain dependent? Or have you tried this out with other strains besides Rocklock?
