Help with res and tap water

I'll look into the hydroguard, but again my problem is when I change res. I guess I have to find a way to hold 150 gallons in a seperate container to let it sit out for a day or two, then pump it into the res. Where as you have the 5 gal bucket, I should consider individual buckets

Help with res and tap water

You've never had an issue with roots a day or two after a change? Do you run probiotics? Besides nutes, any water control additives like UC roots?

Help with res and tap water

From what I'm reading, the chlorine in tap water kills the good bacteria on the root system and can create certain types of root issues and root rot. This, combined with shocking the root system enough it can cause lockout.

That's a good idea, even just filling two cans a few days prior to nute change. I'll look into that.

Help with res and tap water

You can let the water sit 24 hours when creating the res, ( I've read conflicting reports on if 24 hours is sufficient for 150 gallons btw) But to change water half way through the run between veg and bloom, this is not possible. All the roots are sitting in the res as it's DWC. In years past I...

Help with res and tap water

I've been reading and reading and reading, and I have a question. If a person were to have a large single res for multiple plants, for round numbers let's say 150 gal res, can this be filled with tap city water? I'm reading a lot about chlorine hurting roots. And let's say one wanted to change...

Just looking for a few ideas about changing up

I have no idea about the pinch, but it is very frustrating. I can put up pics tomorrow, but I have 2 seedlings that are 4 weeks old that are no bigger than an inch high, and an inch across. They have probably a single 8 inch root down into the bucket.

Just looking for a few ideas about changing up

Thank you for even taking the time to talk to me, as I read through the threads I just become more confused. Ok, first. 5 gal buckets, air pumps and 2 air stones per bucket. Not sure of exact liters on airpumps, but good pumps, I can post that later. Things I'm noticing as I read, and I'm...

My bucket is holding at 68 I've read about the z7, my question is does the UC roots, or H202 fight against Z7? Im assuming z7 is what is known as a "beneficial bacteria" do I add it with each "top off" or just water change? And thank you so much

My first post - Just still learning - Few questions

This has been quite the informative forum, and the knowledge here is quite impressive. There are literally THOUSANDS of sites, threads, and forums on these topics, and throughout months of reading, I somehow ended up her the last two days. While I understand some of the terminology, some is...
