I put about a pint of MC in a quart mason jar, and keep the rest in the original bag with some silica gel paks. It keeps fine as long as I seal the bag well after I use some... I only put a pint in the jar, because I know it's going to eventually get gummy, so most of it gets used up before it...

Sorry about the a/c, but at least the plant was comfortable...:) LB's yard looks like a park...lots of trees, so lots of shade...her spot wouldn't have to be perfect, 6 hours of direct sun should do the trick..a little more would be better, but that's not always possible if you also want to keep...
