Re: A top nutrient study: Which is the best? Produces most?
I won't use anything but fabric pots , like SMart Pots . some fabs are different material , but i like these the best ,
they are kind of like felt ....
NOTE ... the pots can be reused a lot of times , however , after each harvest ...
here's another technique .. when repotting from a cup , place the root ball on its side with the stem going across the pot , bury
every thing but the top 2 or 3 bud sites (plant should be about 12" tall) , then ,about a week later , pinch the stem about
where it hangs over the opposite side...
I discard the rot , smell the remainder , if it smells like ammonia , it goes to , i also do a visual , opening the buds ,
if there is no APPARENT rot , then into the oven , as most likely , the buds that appear okay have the spores that haven't
grown yet and the heat will kill them , but...
hash eating has been popular for many many years ... a basic method of making hash , is for someone to "gather" the trichomes
by handling weed , then scrapping the resin from their hands and forming balls or slabs ... the oils from their hands serve
as an effective solvent and they effects...
i get this condition on about 25% of my plants ... I have not been able to find anything or anyone who
addresses this problem , if it is one , directly . None of the plants with this seem to be negatively affected , but
then I don't know if there could have been more volume .. No other signs...
I found 1 plant with bud rot , recently , but only at the very fine webbing stage at the stalk junctures ... i immediately took it , then
begain separating the dense nugs on a few other plants .. i think that i was a bit paranoid and believed that i saw the webbing on
all of them . I cut them...
i hang plants for 2 days , then clip the buds and spread them out ... hanging for a week or two , IF you have those nice hard
nugs , can only invite mold .... get'em off the stem as soon as possible ... about 2 days is enough for the resin to dry enough
so that you don't gum up your clippers...
go back and read Drake .... you cannot smoke the plants treated with colchicine , and he advises not smoking the 2nd generation ,
after that it should be ok .... the application method is to make slit in a branch and place a piece of cotton soaked in colchicine over
it ... garce
My tap water comes in a 8 ph ... after Brita it's 6 ph ... my only concern is that i have read where
a lot of filters remove calcium and mag ... no problem , i can add some calmag , but need to know
if the filter doesn't touch them ... i never want to over nute again ..
BTW ... as far a...
I just bought one of the Mars 400's ... very satisfied ... i checked all around and various distances with light meter ... great penetration
and they need to be at least 14 inches above the tops
thanks .. the rainwater i tested was roof runoff , did not consider that might add something..
i'll try again with a rain that falls in a bucket .. i use the same water on all plants and get a soil range from just over 6 to 8 ,
gotta just keep trying to eliminate sources and get the balances...
I have a strange circumstance ...
rain water is testing at 8 and tap water at 6.5
bought a soil tester and most of my pots are 7.5-8 , will that come down if i continue to use the slightly acid tap water ? or
will i need to add an adjuster ?? thanks ... garce
my son suggested using some sort of wick method for watering and i've considering trying it , but now i know that i will ..
after all , we all like cute girls !!
