I meant 1/4 to 1/2 strength on the nutes. Yes, I never really researched it other than hearing people grow plants out of their fish tank. I am just using my old fish tank water in my Deep Water Culture. I guess it is basically the same thing but no fish in the bins or filters.

I wouldn't add Nutrients to the fish tank. It might kill your fish. I know this is an old thread, but I am growing and I use 50% of fish tank water and 50% tap water in my hydroponics DWC system. I have a total of 82 gallons worth of a system going. I have 4 fish tanks, all around 35 gallons...
