Most every digital scale these days you zero them out to start. put say a bowl on it, turn it on then weigh. None of the old dangly scales that you had to try to hold steady then subtract the .9 grams for unpleated corner baggies, 1.2 for pleated corners. We didn't have the fancy zipper ones...

On one of trims, outdoor grown, I ended up "chewing" most of the skin off my fingers trying to clean them off. Try using vegetable oil/olive oil or another type, seems to clean well enough to be able to soap and water after and good to go.
