they way to do it if you are already in 12-12 is to reduce the light on time by 1hr every week. Good luck.
BTW the 18hr (6on 12off) days are really speeding things along!
you def can get that saving. I think it will depend on the quality of the LEDS you get, just saw this thread and the wattage saved was 50%

Have been using the 6 on 18 off cycle for about 3-4 flowering cycles now (continuous process) now I am going to try 6 on 12 off and see how it goes, have you ever tried this icemud? BTW I am sure that my yield with 6 on 18 off is less than 12-12, however it suits me just fine, now I want to see...

Re: Comparison-Mars II Series (5watt) vs Reflector Series (3watt) from Mars Hydro/Top
some people swear by lenses, I hate them! reduce photon output and means that you have to have your light further away!!
I got 10 * 10w LED GU10 bulbs for 2.99$ each. They were advertised as 10w but actual consumption I was told by the seller is 4-5w each. I think most LED light bulbs are sold like this, if run at 10w will get much too hot with a short life. Mine have 2 Red and 1 Blue. I would not believe claims...
Just differing opinions dependent on ones own experience. No one is challenging your point of view or experience, nor negating it! I totally understand how your experience of LED was somewhat negative; my point is that there are other ways to do it where you are much more in control, somewhat...
RE roots, I let my plants dry out completely and they have great root growth. I noticed transpiration rates were much lower under LED so watering frequency had to be reduced a lot compared to HID
LEDs are cheap, especially with a DIY option. My light costs me next to nothing and if any part goes it can be replaced easily
FULL SPECTRUM LED COB 100w (64x3w) $40
ARTIC COOLER CPU heatsink + fan $10
LED Driver 100w (20-40v 3.0A) $25
so per 75$ per 100w draw, not bad and very easy to...
Re: Harvest Approaches - Taking Samples (?)
lower buds tend to mature later so chances are its a bit over-ripe at the top. I would chop it :)
True pros use a magnifying tool to check trichome ripeness (clear, cloudy/milky or Amber) with most agreeing on some percentage of clear to cloudy to...
I dont think 25w LED will be enough, maybe if you keep the plant very low. Have you considered side lighting. That will help a lot. In a small box I would have light on top and the 3 sides as well. Your 4" fan should be more than adequate, but I would be concerned about the lack of light. I...
They are made in China by an OEM LED manufacturer. You pay extra buying from them (platinum) because they probably are better specs RE: the BIN of the LEDS, the fans and heatsinks, power drivers etc. You also pay more for a 5 year warranty.
If you want a similar light for cheaper you can have...
