Yea that will work if they get to big you can always lst or scrog train it or top it like you said, setting up your ventilation im not sure but yes you can get a carbon filter to get rid of the smell and if you want extra protection get some ona gel.As soon as you see pollen sacks you can throw...

i hear blue planet nutrients are pretty good they have a quart trio pack grow/micro/bloom for 20 buck, they should work with all round crops.
I would wait till they are 12" inches tall then start flowering they shouldn't stretch alot since they are indica type, they should't get more then 2 to 2 1/2 feet tall. Post some pics when they start flowering looking forward to seeing your baby grow.

Dang whatever your doing your plants are loving you for it :) but yea i would use some string to tie what i can, what nutrients are you using?
i think your mother plant has powdery mildew if that's it you want to isolate that from your other plants until treated, you can use neem oil for that.The yellowing in the leafs could be a nitrogen or iron deficiency.
leafs curing up could be from heat stressed/low humidity, whats your rh at?
