I was, but I have hardened them off to outdoor and it's time to transplant. I just don't know if I can bury a bit of the stem, maybe 2 inches or so. If I do that do I run the risk of the buried stem rotting? Granny

Hi, Sounds like animal to me. If you can, get a little chicken wire and wrap the whole plant loosely. If it is animal problem solved. If it's a thief not a lot you can do. Harbor freight has a great assortment of alarms that may scare a ripper off. If it is the the police scan your area...
