Hey shanker..... I do it in steps...i prep the planty with defoliation starting in veg- Right before i put her in flowering i give her a good trim on lower leafes and smaller non imoirtant branches/nodes- after the (stretch)..well mine dont stretch much due to technique and bud blood.. but...

2000 w, three northern lights...wanted some input on my development so far..im 18 days from flip, to 12/12, they showed sex at day 6/7...

So im now in day 18 of flower, gave them a shower last night..literally under the shower, they love and react very well to a soaking..i noticed a few mites so i soaked em, when done correctly your girls will be very happy with a shower, the stand back up very very happy, firts pic is right after...

Max, dont hesitate to literally take the whole clone /plant,,,put it.under the faucet, shower if bigger, upside down..great way to rid a plant from mites, the plannt will suffer no damage and pop right back when dry..people r to fragile with plants..remember, in the wild they r exposed to...

I have been researching it thoroughly, im a huge defoliation guy. Strip most of my plant by week 6..i was thinking about adding another technique to my bag of tricks, dls....make sense, 14 hours to build photosynthesus..10 hours to rest..
