Dang....I guess i wasted ten bucks!! hahahaha Shoulda known better. I didnt realize they make "hi-end" pH testers. I don't believe i ever saw a really good one before. i just bought what they had at the local garden center.
i'll have to do some online searching
I have a $10 pH tester w/ two long probes on it. stick in damp soil.....gives you a reading.
Crap, am i thinking the wrong way about pH? Lime raises pH....and i wanna go from 3.5 to maybe 6.5 or so.
Dang..... glad i checked! My first attempt at adjusting pH. I took a wild guess here....i just added one cup of dolomite per container and mixed it in. (Medium-large sized containers)
Added water until dripping. Check pH again in a day or two, i guess. Cheap tester, but i guess it works...
Nice!! S. Africa, huh? Wow. What's the climate like there? You have 4 seasons, etc., etc?
So, you germinated in the plastic cup and then straight into outdoor location? Also..... Will you need to eventually support this plant w/ a stake or anything....or can you just let em go? Thanks buddy
Hey guys..... I could use some very general advice about my soil mix. I got a load of decent topsoil. And, I'll be adding some basics....worm castings and some guano.
Is it possible to "overdo" on the guano? I'll be digging perhaps 2x2 holes and filling w/ my mix. Whats a good amount of...
Copy on the manure. maybe i'll go easy on that. it's mixed with compost though? Hey man....massive is good! hahahahaha!
Thanks boys.....i really appreciate the feedback. Should I post pics?
Oh ok, got ya. Yeah, i'm not schooled yet on that "technique", but familiar with the "theory" behind it. privacy is fine. no neighbors around. it's ranch/horse country around here. Good to go......
Ah, ok....i did wondeer about that. thank you! i have a bunch of those circular, metal tomato things. about 3' tall? i have chicken wire. thought i'd wrap around the tomato things and secure them good. what do you think? high enough?
hahahaha! fun watchin em grow ain't it? i'm in central FL.....average last chance of frost is march 10. it's rare anyway...but I'm thinkin maybe 1st week of April should be good to go.
Nuthin can beat FL sunshine! at least in the lower 48. so, you're saying you'd stake em? i have a couple...
hey guys....gettin excited down here in FL. Close to plantin' time! I selected two, 100% sativa strains, that should be well-suited to FL climate.
I never grew sativas before and i know they can get quite tall. Do you think i'll need to "stake" the plants for support? And, i'm planning on...
