I harvested my first ever grow this weekend and am currently drying the crop. Not sure, but I think I might have about 10-12 ounces dry. Many colas of buds, with lots of milky trichs and even a smattering of hash tips. I'm quite happy with the output from my two plants.
However, this weed...
Thanks. That's approximately what I've been doing, though with a slightly more gradual approach. I've been walking the PPM down by giving low PPM water (about 60 PPM at this point) and pumping a gallon or two from my outer buckets (runoff/reserve) after watering. The PPM of my runoff is down...
Sounds like the room with your cabinet is only about 20 sq feet in size. That's quite small, especially if the room is somewhat air tight. So I can see why you are thinking of drawing air from a separate room and also exhausting into a separate room. That seems a bit involved, but it's...
Yes, I'm not good with cubic meters but that sounds like a good sized room. You don't need to actively ventilate the room, tho at times I do point a fan into the room where I have my cabinet. Spend time in the room whenever you can, to boost CO2. Your farming activities will have you in the...
FWIW, the estimable Jorge Cervantes says "stop fertilization seven to ten days prior to harvest." That's not advice specifically for hydro, tho. That's his general take.
Do you stop giving nutrients toward the end of a grow? Do you give pure water for several days before harvest, or continue to feed? I know this is the subject of some debate. I'm just wondering if coco growers tend to lean one way or the other on the matter of pre-harvest flushing.
After a bit more research, I decided to give very light nutes (100 ppm) for another 2-3 days and monitor the pistols, just to make sure I'm not rushing. There's probably no downside to waiting another few days before I go to pure water.
PS -- I have a bit more reading to do on flushing. I see...
About 97% white, yes. With the naked eye I do see a small number of amber hairs on each bud.
My 40x scope does the job, albeit a USB for taking photos would be very useful right about now.
But I can see the trichomes clearly with my scope, and try as I might, I can't find any clear...
Thanks!
I don't know. I'm really in no hurry. I just want to harvest at the peak. Given that it's a hybrid, I'm reading some opinions that you harvest when nearly all trichomes are milky... and I'm past that point. I understand that for an indica some people like to see more amber. I...
