Re: What was your mmj doctors visit like?
Mr-B, I appreciate your post. I started using MMJ about 3 1/2 years ago for chronic pain. I've been diagnosed with degenerative disc disease in the lumbar and cervical spine, and have been on opioids for many years. I wanted to try to use cannabis...
Most coops have rules like one visit per day, and a maximum of 1 or 2 ounces. Maybe if you live far away from the dispensary, they could make an exception, but the limits are in place to slow down diversion.
Are there delivery services offered in your area? The county I am in is also dry, and I have to drive 45 to 90 minutes to get to the closest dispensaries.
The first visit to a co-op usually entails some paperwork. Bring your original recommendation and a CA ID (driver's license or passport). They will call your doctor to verify, so you may want to preverify to shorten the wait. Also, if you decide to get a county issued CA medical marijuana ID...
Patients diagnosed with the following illnesses are afforded legal protection under Measure 67: cachexia; cancer; chronic pain; epilepsy and other disorders characterized by seizures; glaucoma; HIV or AIDS; multiple sclerosis and other disorders characterized by muscle spasticity; and nausea...
As I am getting older (51 now), I notice I don't sleep as well. They say it is a lack of the hormone, melatonin.
I've tried OTC melatonin 3mg, have a script for Ambien CR, but a couple puffs of a good indica like Urkel does the job for me.
Most all dispensaries will let you become a member as long as they can verify your recommendation. I find that this is one of the reasons the State card or OCBC card are useful. These cards provide instant verification. Since Medicann has their own card, and 24/7 verification, you shouldn't have...
420, thank you for the clarification on collectives versus co-ops and dispensaries.
Are there any collectives that are accepting new members in the South Bay area? What is the typical annual membership fees, and how many hours per week do members put in?
I can recommend Medicann as I have been going to the same doctor for nearly four years.
There is one in San Jose, which is the office I now go to. Go to their website, and check for the closest location. Bring your medical records for the condition you are stating you need MMJ for.
Most of the co-ops or clubs I've been to are more like stores, where you come in, join as a member, and are able to purchase their meds.
I'm looking for a true co-op, where legal MMJ patients come together, and pool their money and/or time together to grow, harvest, and cure their own...
