I don't even wanna title this

All I will say is be careful, energy usage is heavily tracked by nearly every company so an addition of 1.2kW would be easily noticed.

I don't even wanna title this

I am slightly confused with your situation, your engineer told you that the load from four 315w lec was going to be too much and you are wanting to replace them with leds? How many watts are you trying to save, maybe a better question, what is your target loading?

How can I make a AC fan speed controller?

The responses saying not to use a normal dimmer is absolutely correct. Normal dimmers are meant to work on a nearly pure resistive load, which is not a motor by any means, you have complex components of impedance caused by both capacitance and inductance seen within the model of a motor. Motors...

    Week 3 veg trouble

What nutrients are you using, what pH are you feeding them at, what temperature are they exposed to, humidity, light distance etc. The leaves appear to be curling a bit, how often are you feeding them? To give you an idea by week three of veg I am feeding nutrients at 3/4-full strength once a...

Looking for a good Bubba Kush feminized seed

Pretty much as the title states, I am looking to see who has the best genetics for Bubba Kush feminized. I have been looking around but I have found a lot of conflicting stories. I have looked at Dinafem, Humboldt Seed org and a few others. I would obviously prefer first hand accounts not my...

    DIY CXB3590 light

I vegged them for 4 weeks prior to starting flower, I did take quite a few more cuts than I needed and choose the most vigorous 6 so I did set myself up for a fairly quick veg. During veg I also did the liquid light/saturator foliar combo which seems to speed up growth a slight bit.

As a final update to this, the grow is finished, off of a 3x3 scrog running the lights at 400w draw I have 1.5lbs dried of white widow. I would say this exceeded my expectations from this light. Some details about my grow: 6x White Widow clones from a mother plant of mine in 3Gal smart pots...

Is Anyone Using Phillips 315 Watt Ceramic Metal Halide?

So I took some reading from the Arc Tube and see temps ~550° F, which in honesty makes sense as that is how CMH creates the spectrum it does by having a much hotter running Arc Tube than achievable from a standard arc tube not seen in CMH technology. However if you have the room to keep the...

    DIY CXB3590 light

A dremel would work with the correct blade (though I remember them being more of a grinding wheel than an actual blade) or attachment. I used a bandsaw which is overkill, you could actually use a hacksaw if you wanted to, just make sure to file down the edges.

So here is an update at day 43. They are frosting up nice, they are currently all cloudy with a few turning amber here and there.

Is Anyone Using Phillips 315 Watt Ceramic Metal Halide?

Really? I found that mine isnt much hotter than a 250w hps w/ integrated ballast that I use for Veg normally. That being said I saw about a 2° F rise when I put up the lec 315 w 4200k lamp.

Is Anyone Using Phillips 315 Watt Ceramic Metal Halide?

I got both bulbs as well, I am actually looking forward to firing it up once my cookies kush clones root.

Is Anyone Using Phillips 315 Watt Ceramic Metal Halide?

I actually just picked up a sun system lec 315 yesterday after seeing it in person and talking to a friend I trust who swapped to these last year over a 600w in a 3x3 space. I will soon find out how well these work.

Light options for a 3x3 tent

I was leaning towards the 600w hps in reality. It seemed like the cmh has a lot of hype behind it. As for a reflector I am looking at going with a blockbuster with 6" cooling duct.
