I had the same idea because I live in an apartment and space is a little tight. I was going to put my box on the balcony and avoid the odor issues as well. I'm sure the heat of the lamp IS sufficient to keep the cabinet at an acceptabe temperature... while the lamp is on! lol Common sense...

I think the B&W poly is better than mylar for several reasons including reflective, workability and maintainability! That mylar crinkles up easily and if you wash it it will actually reduce the reflective properties of the film! As for price i think they are similar.
