HELENA – Three men have been sentenced to federal prison for their roles in a marijuana growing operation that was busted near Garrison in October 2008.

Forty-year-old Christian Gochis of Drummond and 45-year-old Devlin E. Moore of Trenton, N.D., were sentenced to five years in prison after being found guilty of conspiracy to manufacture marijuana.

A third man, 46-year-old Billy Joe Thorne of Garrison, was sentenced to 13 months in prison after pleading guilty to the same charge. The grow operation was on his property.

Thorne says Gochis was one of his partners in the grow operation and that Moore helped him tend the plants.

All three were sentenced Thursday by U.S. District Judge Charles Lovell in Helena.
