Little Rock, Arkansas - Medical marijuana has a high chance of becoming legal in Arkansas.
According to a Talk Business and Politics poll, nearly 60 percent of Arkansas voters support legalizing medical marijuana.
The issue narrowly failed in 2012. Four years later, the majority of voters say they would vote to legalize medical marijuana.
In the poll, participants were asked, "If the election were held today, would you vote to allow for medical marijuana sales?"
These were the results:
Federal laws require banks to treat marijuana companies like illegal entities.
"No marijuana business can have a checking account, or a deposit account, debit card, credit card or access to the payment system at all because of the federal system rules," Arkansas Bankers Association President Bill Holmes told ABC affiliates KATV.
That could soon change. A bill is circulating on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. that would change the laws.
According to KATV, there is also concerns among law enforcement agencies. Many agencies are concerned about the lack of standards, particularly when it comes to driving while high on marijuana.

If medical marijuana sales are approved in November, the state will have 180 to days to start answering these questions and instituting policies for banks, police, and hospitals.
