The Wo/Men's Alliance for Medical Marijuana a.k.a WAMM has been operating out of Santa Cruz, California for over two decades, but the collective is in danger of closing shop for patients if they don't receive the necessary funding.

Founded in 1993, WAMM is America's oldest continuously operating medical cannabis collective, according the the organization's website. They provide low-cost and free medical marijuana to California patients with a doctor's recommendation for chronic and terminal illnesses.

Non-psychoactiveextracts have been praised for their medical uses, especially with children, an obvious concern for parents considering using medical marijuana as a treatment for their kids.

Marijuana is currently classified as a schedule 1 narcotic, alongside heroin and LSD, under the Controlled Substances Act and is considered by the Drug Enforcement Agency to have "no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse."
