Question: does anyone out there know if "Calcium carbonate" is suitable to use for a calcium deficency?

Also can "Magnesium stearate" be used for a magnesium deficency?
Thanks to anyone that can help!

Most of us use Magnesium sulfate (epsom salt) for mag deficiency. I don't know about Magnesium stearate.

yeah calc carb is fine for calcium enrichment of soil... but the more commonly used is lime or dolomite lime.. i would stick with dolomite myself if you can.

mag stearate on the other hand wouldnt be such a good supplement as its a mag salt of stearic acid and as such is better used as a binding agent in pharmaceuticals, as the general wisely mentions above- epsom salts is the ticket for mag deficency as it is magnesium sulfate- both of which are essential for plant development(magnesium + sulphur)

all the best! keep it green :cheesygrinsmiley:
