Officials with Growing Pueblo's Future said Tuesday that they are planning several campaign events to educate the public before they vote on an amendment that would end the sale and cultivation of commercial marijuana in Pueblo County.

The pro-marijuana industry group will take its message to the public through city and county events as well as door-to-door campaigning.

The Pueblo County commissioners on Monday unanimously voted to send the initiative to the November ballot.

Jim Parco, owner of Mesa Organics, an economics professor and spokesman for Growing Pueblo's Future, responded to the commissioners' decision saying the group is ready for voters to decide "again."
