A former police officer has pleaded guilty to tampering with marijuana evidence that police seized from suspects.

Former Sgt. Samuel "Mark" Turner, 47, and ex-police Chief Chester Kennedy were arrested March 2 on the tampering charges and later fired. Turner, who was also charged with misdemeanor possession and delivery of marijuana, entered his plea Wednesday.

Turner faces two to 10 years in prison for the tampering offense, a third-degree felony.
