Does a higher contactor wattage work on a lower light wattage?

Hello,

I have a 150 HPS. There's a store nearby who sells a contactor/timer relay up to 2x 600 watt fixtures. Will that contactor work for my 150hps?

Yes
Most use 120volt to pull in contacts
The contacts are rated for the wattage and amperage lower is fine higher is not
